The EURO-PREVOB project finished on 31 March 2010
The EURO-PREVOB project has now finished and the final Newsletter has been posted on the website. The Coordinators will be posting all the project deliverables on the website as they are formally approved by the European Commission. It remains to deliver the final management reports (D14).
Review of obesity and socio-economic groups in Europe
A review of the literature entitled Obesity and socio-economic groups
in Europe: Evidence review and implications for action (http://ec.europa.eu/health/ph_determinants/life_style/nutrition/documents/ev20081028_rep_en.pdf)
has recently been prepared by Aileen Robertson, Tim Lobstein and Cécile
Knai. The aim of the review was to collate information from the literature
and from international and national databases about the association between
obesity and socio-economic status in European countries. The review also
describes some policies and interventions that are recommended to complement
current initiatives in the area of health promotion.
